Many apologies for no selections today, ive been under the weather the last few days and hit hard last night. never even watched a race today so i must be bad. i did mention in a previous post that i would post my months figs and will get to that tomorrow all being well. there is a flat meet from nottingham sunday but mainly 3 year old handicaps and maidens so will by pass that. looking forward to a new week and new month and hope to see another month of profit. speak soon.

Just the one winner yesterday with manomine. nearly had another big price winner with my place pick in the 2.20 from ayr rock canyon just failing into 2nd at odds of 14/1 so a little place money there. on with todays picks.

GDWOOD 2.40 GOTHIC WIN(5/1)  EDGE E/WAY(50/1) yeah 50/1 which may raise a few eyebrows. i picked this one back on the 8th and didnt perform but more likely the ground didnt suit and should be better back on a tight track as the win from chester last term showed. 2nd in that is a confirmed rated 80 so a mark of 78 is lenient and he will win off this sort of mark, will it be today well on ratings i have him in with a shout.

Updated results pages and can now post figures so far and win results which are the ones im most interested in are as last month showing a healthy profit so far. currently +11.30 points up to level stakes. e/way results are -12.40 points down. to have both in profit is asking alot and im happy with those win figs. last month produced a profit of +21 points so hopefully this month can continue the trend. There have been some big price winners aswell and can view on my big winners page pop over and take a look.

Three nice winners yesterday with kosika (2/1), happy families (7/2) and best of the lot place pick jan smuts (7/1). thought for a mo might have another with byrons dream going close losing out by a neck at (12/1). couple of non runners didnt help but that happens. i have as promised totted up results figures and at present win picks are +11.30 points up to level stakes and e/way picks are -12.40 down. to get both in profit is difficult as you can imagine but the important point is yet again im running my win picks to profit and hopefully this will continue to the end of the month. very pleased with those figs and more to come we hope. onward to todays picks then.

Almost the dream start today in the first with avonbreeze just failing by a neck at great odds of 10/1 was as big as 14s when posted. singeur my place selection coming 3rd at 8/1. nap sheriff of nawton was very well backed all day but surpisingly went down to one to a outsider. the 7.15 from leicester is still to come and have just one more to add.

WINDSOR 8.05 KUDA HURAA WIN  JAKEY E/WAY. cafe society is attracting alot of support but im not as convinced and win pick may well be the one to be on. been running well over hurdles of late and seems on a good mark, lightly raced and eye catching jockey booked.

Saturday was well a frustrating day in some ways. battalion never went a yard and bookmakers must have been rubbing there grubby hands. however olympic glory obliged with my place pick tullius following him home to give us yet another forecast. tropical beat gave us a little more with a decent run in 3rd. todays picks are few for a change, not many races really rock my boat but these 3 seeem the best of a bad bunch. there is an evening meets from leicester and windsor with a possible 2 more races but want to hold off with possible ground changes effecting a couple i fancy so will post later. at the mo i will give you 2 from redcar and 1 from leicester.

REDCAR 4.20 AVONBREEZE WIN (14/1.  SINGEUR E/WAY (6/1). avonbreeze returned poorly and last three have been average but they were all on poor ground and with the much better ground today coupled with a great winnable mark could run a big one. my ratings have him top.
REDCAR 4.50 SHERIFF OF NAWTON WIN (EVENS)  DUBAWI LIGHT E/WAY (9/1) dubawi ran nothing last time but that at leicester and can be forgiven as its a specialist track. the maiden win 2 back is more interesting having beaten a now rated 75 by a length and can run off that mark today.

I have one evening pick which i have a liking for and thats act your shoe size in the 7.00 from hamilton. recent form shows nothing but on return this year was caught at the back in a big field, likewise he was held up last time out from what should have been a good draw but the inside draw only favours if you get out smartly so im forgiving that one aswell. previous to those two runs he has been flying in alot better company than tonights race and can now return to more realistic level a full 8 pounds lighter than his win here over course and distance last year. does well in small fields and im advising a win selection. currently you can get 18/1.

WINNING APOLOGY.

Ive realised i made a first time error last night when posting selections. i somehow forgot to post the correct selections from the 1.45 & 3.15 from york patience alexander and lustrous. As you will see from my home page tweets i posted them last night to a competition page the pigeon swoop6 on twitter which some of you may be familar with. what happens patience alexander wins at 5/1. i can take some comfort from that but have to make apologies to you all for not posting in my selections. must have been half asleep.

Another one win day but another great priced winner with navajo chief obliging at 15/2. amongst the winners this week its included a 8/1 (mon), 7/1 (tues), and todays 15/2 to follow up the 14/1 back last fri  have to be pleased with that. disappointed today with the effort of true story never got really going although place pick arod got 2nd at odds of 8/1. intomist who i really liked came in 3rd did look at one stage my prediction was going to hold on but found little in the final furlong but as i said in my post its one to keep an eye on. place pick sea soldier came second shortening right in to 5/2 from 6/1 when i posted.

Nothing yesterday im afraid for a change, expected more from some of them even if they were big field races, royal rascal and jamaican bolt ran well and finished in the first 6 of 20 runners did think for a mo that royal rascal was going to pick up but not to be, cambridge was a big disappointment and will be of interest to see how he bounces back from that. on we go with todays picks from york and salisbury.

First two races provided a little with place pick niceonemyson coming 2nd but came right into 9/4 from early doors 4/1 so would depend when you staked as to whether profit was made. but best was yet to come and that came in the 4.00 with place selection busatto romping it at great odds of  7/1 and win pick baraweez following him home. not finished yet as emerahldz my win pick taking the 4.30 at 7/4 and yet again my place pick barleycorn lady following in 2nd at odds of 7/2 could have had it at 5s earlier in the day. another good day overall and liking the potential forecasts that could have been had.

Great start to the day yesterday with newgate queen winning at 8/1, that was the only winner but il take one of those everyday. ballyshonagh was a late n/runner which was a shame, personal touch almost made it two but outdone by a big gamble landed by a french raider and miss tiger lilly just couldnt hang on and collared on the line. decent day and almost a great one. onwards to tuesdays picks.

No winners saturday although i was pleased with how a few ran after there winter break. rhombus went well finishing 3rd (8/1) border legend 3rd (7/1) and talented kid 3rd (10/1). all in with a chance but no banana. elidor provided a little place money back but a frustrating day overall to follow a good one friday. ok on with a new week and heres mondays nags to peruse.

Just the one winner yesterday with my nap pick noble mission obliging, almost had another with captain bob almost getting there but not to be. ok on with fridays picks from chester and lingfield. there are some more races in the evening meets but im holding off with the chance of non runners and possible ground conditions changing, will post when available.

Back and raring to go with 4 races from lovely chester, if theres one course i want to visit its this one but for now will have to put up with the t.v. heres our picks for thursday.

1.45 MACRET WIN  STRICTLY SILVER E/WAY. both ran well on returns and should come on from them, rate highly with me and both attractive prices at the mo. macret 6/1 and s.silver 11/1.

2.15 NOBLE MISSION WIN.  HIGHLAND KNIGHT E/WAY. a repeat of n.missions demolition last time should see him take this. h.knight looks more at ease on grass and a return to group level may prove easier than handicaps if that makes sense, last time out ran well but mainly they were all on level weights, previous few h.caps he had to concede alot of weight so this sphere should suit. lets hope he doesnt let me down.

2.45. SCOTLAND WIN.  STARS OVER THE SEA. i tipped scotland on his reappearance and he went well, should come on for that. stars over the sea has the course specialist franny norton in the hot seat  ran well last time and looks like this extra distance will suit.

3.15 CAPTAIN BOB WIN.  EDGE E/WAY. edge is currently 28/1 which may put you off but not without a sniff, won here 2 starts back and second has gone ok off a mark of 80 so a mark today of 81 looks lenient. difficult race to rate and would be a little cautious.

Finally had some time to put together aprils figures and they read well. below is a breakdown of win & e/way selections.

Great month and to get both win and place bets in profit albeit only just with the e/ways its still very pleasing. as ive mentioned in previous posts april and may are the most difficult times to select and you do have to look at horses a little differently and add factors that i wouldnt normally do. Im not a great fan of trainer/course form and similar sorts of stats but so early on in the season you do have to factor it in a little more. when theres more form to look at then i rarely look at those figures, lets face it its the horse thats running not the trainer. Lets hope may and the rest of the season can go in similar vain. 

SETTLE FOR THAT.

Another 4 winners today and so glad i posted the late blog as both produced a winner. started the day with balmoral castle winning well at odds of 6/1, next was solidarity scoring at 15/8, followed by  debdebdeb my place pick winning at 11/4 and in the last from beverly real tigress going in at 3/1. my nap pick arty campell went close but not to be. ingleby symphony went well at big odds finishing 3rd so all round a good day.

GAMBLE SEEMS ON.

When i put up picks last night woody bay my place pick in the 3.50 beverly was as big as 10/1 and had come into 7/2, drifted again just this minuete to 5/1, theres money around for him and wouldnt be surprised if he shortens again.

SUNDAY BLUES.

Unfortunately i wont be able to post any selections for sunday as i just wont have the time to go through them, i dont normally select on sundays as you are probably aware and do like to have one day away from them but for a change there is a shed load of races tommorrow and wish i could but other commitments have got in the way. hope some of you got on the couple of winners yesterday or maybe you had some place money back. speak soon.

SATURDAY RESULTS.

Two winners today and a couple providing some place money.win pick special meaning won well at 5/1 and place pick in the 3.10 from n.market gospel choir won well at nice odds of 6/1. to go with that jacks revenge placed 2nd at odds of 6/1, and kingsgate native placed 2nd in the 2.40 at great odds of 12/1. il take that. if you follow win picks then about even, place picks would have provided some nice profit. Personally what ive started doing is stake 0.50 points win on both my selections so i retain the one point stake and share it equally between the two. how you bet is your choice but just an idea you may want to follow.

SELECTIONS 03.05.14.

Two winners yesterday and a couple of decent places. calm attitude got us off to a good start winning at 3/1, san cassianno my place bet in the next finished 2nd at 8/1 could have had it at 12s earlier. ventura request went close but just missed out so nothing there but then some more place money with majestic moon placing 2nd at 4/1 and allurring star my place pick winning the last at odds of 4/1. my nap just didnt get into it in the same race after a slow start but is one i will be keeping an eye on. So overall a good day 2 winners and 2 places. on we go to saturday and i have 6 races at present to peruse. three of these are part of the record breaking scoop6 with a possible 1.5 million on offer. the other three races i havnt done yet as im waiting on the official going with a few i fancy really dependant on what the ground is like wouldnt surprise me if a few are withdrawn due to it. i will do my best to post asap. has to be worth a £2 punt, what id give to win that best ive done is a few place pots which isnt the easiest to achieve and even that can offer massive payouts and is more realistic. ok heres my picks and i have noted the ones that are part of the scp 6.

Had to wait until the last race for a winner yesterday but worth waiting for with latenight request winning at 6/1. others were disappointing on there returns and should be easier to assess when theres more recent runs to look at, whos shirl(16/1) for one moment had me thinking heres another one as he closed in the final furlong but effort was probably made too late. ok on with todays which provide just the three races that im interested in. so lets start may off with a bang and try to carry on from aprils fine figures. i have to up date my pages soon and will post aprils figures as soon as.
