Selections today come from ascot and pontefract, lets see if we can follow on from yesterdays results.

ASCOT 2.35 RUFFORD WIN.  ONE CHANCE E/WAY. Both of these are hold chances and both are nice prices, one chance is currently 22/1 and ive rated from a 5 furlong 3 starts back from which 2 have franked this form, a move up in trip is a question mark but see no reason why he cant get it. rufford really interest me, last two average but they were on flatter tracks and the run 3 back at newbury is a little more like ascot in that there are undulations and is more of a test which can play into his hands.

Two from four today with my nap pick horsten keynes(6/4) winning with a bit in hand and kakatosi almost getting a place.the other was taro tywod my place pick going one better winning at (5/1). much more like it today. patience is the key i suppose. back later with 2moros picks.

Winners are certainly of a premium at the moment and a little slump in fortunes last couple of days, only the well backed global leader produced a win and did get a little bit back from devote myself placing at 8/1 later in the day but on the whole not one of my best days and took little enjoyment from it. spanish plume was the annoying one i tipped him back on the 22nd and didnt run any sort of race and low and behold he comes in yesterday at 11/2, frustrating but thats why we love it one minuete and hate it the next. ok on to tuesdays picks from yarmouth and one from nottingham.

Not much to shout about sunday. thorntoun lady went close and i was very impressed with ingleby symphony coming second at 12/1 thought he was gonna get there but not quite. anyway new week and we start with most selections coming from wolverhampton and one from bath.

Great start yesterday with another big price winner in the shape of what about carlo trouncing em at 12/1, i was amazed he was so unfancied and so it proved. nothing in the rest but il take that after another decent day and a great month so far. we are spoilt with flat racing today like a kid in a candy store so many to choose from. venues are haydock,leicester and ripon.

Some great profit was had yesterday with apricot star (9/4) scoring and place pick clubland 2nd (5/1) getting us off to a marvellous start, in the next music master(8/13) predictably won and although not of great value a win is a win. next my place pick tenor  finished 2nd (5/1) and the top horse of the day is an old fave of mine arizona john winning at great odds of 12/1 could have had as big as 16s earlier in the day.

Interesting and quite a satisfying day yesterday. how good did speciality run in the first, i always felt as posted he had a shout at the weights and finished runner up at massive odds of 22/1. wee jean ran ok in the 3.00 finishing 3rd. redcar 5.05 was where the wait was over with victoire de lyphar winning well at 5/1 and my place selection whos shirl coming in second. so one win and a couple making some place money. onto today and fixtures from wolverhampton and yarmouth.

WOLVES 6.45 ROCKY ELSOM WIN.  SPANISH PLUME E/WAY this one is 10/1 at present and will probably shorten get on early if you fancy. i will be.

WOLVES 7.15 TRAVEL WIN. poor price and should walk it.

WOLVES 7.45 LOVE EXCEL WIN.  ALS MEMORY. als memory has been running average of late but on inspection its against much better opposition and this race is closely matched with a run here 5 back, rates highly from that one.

WOLVES 8.15 CHEZ VRONY WIN.  MISTY EYES E/WAY. chez is 9/1 and has a real chance although the draw is a slight worry, misty eyes has excuses for its last few and im rating from a decent run 4 back.

SELECTIONS MONDAY 21.04.14.

Quieter week last week certainly not a  disaster and still managed to uncover some nice winners along the way and to be honest as ive said before i never thought this month as a whole would be as profitable as it has been. i have to update my win page from saturday but just done a quick tot up and still running at an amazing profit of +36 points at level stakes. fridays racing from lingfield was a great spectacle but an enigma to solve as was saturdays handicaps so pleased to have not dropped too much. Any way lets get on with mondays picks and these come from yarmouth and redcar. these are another bunch of puzzle solvers with many coming back from breaks and have used trainer/jockey figures to aid my ratings. dont often do that but needed to with this lot. ok have a go at this bunch.

YARMOUTH 2.25 CEELO WIN.  SPECIALITY E/WAY.  ceelo has had his last 6 runs on the all weather and possibly the yard have done this to get his mark down as that surface doesnt seem to suit, will prefer the turf and can run off a mark 10 pounds lighter that last run on turf. speciality is another whose last two have been polytrack, im interested in the maiden run way back in july of 2012, winner of that ran off a mark of 77 and second also ran ok since so todays mark of 60 is potentially 17 pounds less than that run, whatever happens here im earmarking this one, if its not today it will be soon with such a low mark.

Great days racing at lingfield, really seemed to catch the publics imagination and started so well for us with viewpoint (5/1) winning and grendisar following him home. ertijaal (11/10) got us another one which was expected. my little gamble blue wave didnt work out and he didnt seem to get the trip so im now covered in egg. then in the 4.05 how close was trinityelitedotcom (5/1) just headed in literally the last stride. i was willing him home and thought he had it but not quite to be. i then posted a late one from mussleburgh and place selection azrur came second at great odds of 25/1. so settled with the two winners and look forward to the weekends racing.

n.b. i have a real liking for blue wave in the 3.30, never run 2 miles but yard have thrown him in when they could have ran him over 12 furlongs in the first race. as these races are condition races and not strictly handicaps the weights are somewhat different. If trainer had placed him in the first he would only have recieved 1 pound more than his rating, but in the 3.30 he is recieving alot more weight from many and this really could play into his hands over 2 miles. just a theory and waiting for egg on face, we"ll see. best of luck.

One winner and two seconds from my win selections and to be honest il take that. really was a difficult set of races to rate with so many containing 3yr olds but thats what you get around this time. As i stated in my selection post toothy was worth place money at the opening price of 6/1 ended up 9/4 and returned second so would have returned a few pennies if as advised you got on it early. mushir ran well but again another second, true story was the bright light winning at a canter at 3/1 and expert in my last one again ran well but another second at 7/1. could have been better but a whole lot worse to.

Not today folks, not a bean im afraid. the one i liked all day was robot boy, he ran well after a break finishing 4th and will be of even more interest next time. same can be said of burnham got close but just ran out of gas finishing second. judging how theyll be after a break is difficult and again will be interesting if he can find a similar race to this one. lady lunchalot ran well to at a price but probably suited better on the all weather. no races tomorrow as only southwell and as ive said many times i dont tip from there. speak soon with wednesdays picks.

Just totted up aprils figures and considering how historically difficult this time of year is im you might say cock a hoop at the moment. currently at level stakes profit of +38.0 points and a 44% strike rate. Based on £10.00 stakes that would be a profit of £380.00. cant be bad and will strive to keep this going.

Ive had some great results this month but 2day is the most satisfying days i think ive had so far. considering the size of the fields 2day getting 3 winners from 4 is dreamland. started poorly with quiz mistress not firing, but then j wonder wins at 4/1, i had that at 9/1. then gabrials kaka scores at 8/1, and finally top diktat scores at 7/1, i had that at 10/1. if only quiz mistress had obliged as i had her in an accumlator with j wonder, gabrials kaka and top diktat. if that had one would have returned almost 17k, even so great day and hope more to come. im now looking at wolverhampton 2nite they will be later picks than id prefer but not been in long. my first race is off at 6.20 so pop back if u can.

QUIETER DAY. SELECTIONS 12.04.14.

Only hazaat in the 6.05 yesterday provided any sort of comfort almost snatching it at 20/1, others really didnt figure but have to take days like that. on we go to newbury with some massive races to contend with. huge fields and although im advising as usual win/place many of these offer great value potentially and some of you may want to place only. with such large fields that could be wise but of course the choice is yours.

Todays racing comes from newbury and wolverhampton and i have to say its one of the worst set of cards ive seen for a friday for a long time. the standard may be poor but there are a couple that may provide decent returns.

NEWBURY 3.40 EXCHEQUER WIN  LINCOLN E/WAY. this one has a chance, maybe a little more exposed and hence the price currently 28/1 but doesnt look handicapped out of it by my ratings.
WOLVES 6.05 TRACKS OF MY TEARS WIN.  HAZZAAT E/WAY. hazzaat has excuses last 3 in my book and im rating from the good run back in november, currently 18/1.

STEADY AS SHE GOES.

Another 2 winners from 4 selected tonite from kempton. aeolian obliged at 11/4 in the first and then times square does it at 8/1 in the next get in. wonder weapon had me clenching in the next and almost got up at 8/1 but thought he held a great chance and almost got there. nowt in the last but will take that. 2moros racing from newbury is packed with maidens and all 3 year old races, will take a look but the better handicaps seem to be from wolverhampton in the evening. will post up later.

EVENING SELECTIONS FROM KEMPTON.

Little late but not long been home, anyway here are tonights free picks from kempton park.

6.40 AEOLIAN BLUE WIN.  CHEVISE E/WAY. aeolian blue looks on a great starting mark, 3rd place in the maiden last time has run well winning twice latterly off a mark of 72 so transferring that figure to the maiden really does make a mark of 58 very appealing. chevise running well and would be my top pick without aeolian blue.
7.10 TIME SQUARE WIN. WYNDHAM WAVE E/WAY. both of these have shown much better of late and both are around 9/1 at present. time square last won here off the same mark tonight so looks well treated.
7.40 WONDER WEAPON WIN. this one is currently 9/1 with all the money going on festival theatre and anglo irish but this one stands a great chance with a win last time out and second rates highly with me so effectively wonder weapon is running off the same winning mark, too good to ignore.
8.40 TERHAAB WIN. this one is 3 y/olds and i wont be splashing too much on this one, be cautious.

ANOTHER TOP DAY.

Another 3 from 5 winners yesterday with maxie t winning well at 3/1, then the 4.20 from catterick produced one of my most annoying and "knew i should have moments". i had piceno top rated but got caught up in the chances of the two i advised, was sure there young age and progression would negate there shortfall in my ratings, and what happens yep picenco wins at 10/1. fine line sometimes and have to take it on the chin. Then onto the 4.50 and pixie cut my win selection places at 16/1. onto the 3.40 nottingham and pearl secret as expected wins well, and to finish a good day robert the painter obliges at 11/4. Very pleased with the returns so far especially at this time of the year, winners are like goldust during april so achieving that is as satisfying as any period of the year. OK there is no turf flat today boo! but there is an evening meet from kempton, i have an early start in the morning so will post up mid afternoon, will alert on twitter also. would love some feedback if poss on anything you feel is maybe missing, something you feel is wrong, any feedback would be welcome just want to offer as good a service as i can. SELECTIONS 08.04.14.

Great start yesterday with saigon city and tobacco road finishing first & second, not in the order i advised but even so a winning start. hes a striker ran well but didnt quite get there, will be of interest next time. bombardier was a n/runner in the next and i promoted the cornishcowboy as my win selection and went well finishing 3rd at odds of 20/1. still another day with at least one winner, lets see how we get on with the three races ive selected from pontefract.

2.10 LORD FRANKLIN WIN.  BLUE MAISEY E/WAY.blue maisey i have rated the same in two previous runs and a return to a mile is sure to suit, has been running over 7 furlongs and i suspect thats been done to get his mark down which interestingly has hardly moved since this time last year, seems to me the handicapper knows this and hasnt relented. lord franklin is my top rated my only concern is i dont see any decent runs fresh but on figures can take this.
 4.15 CENTURIUS WIN.  SENNOCKIAN STAR E/WAY. if you want to do s.star i would suggest you get on early, currently 12/1 but im sure there will be interest and will surely shorten.

5.15 MORNIN GEORGEOUS WIN.  PERTUIS E/WAY. mornin georgeous is 20/1 but again will probably shorten, on a great mark from one of his maiden runs from ireland and if fit stands a great chance.

NON RUNNER REPLACEMENT.

There is a n/runner in the 5.10 from windsor today.win selection bombardier has been withdrawn so replacing with the cornishcowboy, and guilded spirit is now promoted to a e/way pick.

Here are our flat selections for monday from windsor & one from redcar. ive had to pick and choose races today as there are a few all 3 year old races and thats a mine field this early in the season so have avoided those.

Got off to another great start yesterday with presumido obliging at 4/1, in the next my place selection viewpoint narrowly lost and finished second at odds of 8/1. close in the other two but no banana, still profit overall and ended a great week. there are no picks for sunday and will be back next week.

Another great day on the all weather with 3/4 winners.Thats 12 winners from last 17 picks on the flat. considering as ive posted before this is notoriously a difficult time to tip im more than happy with that.  started nicely yesterday with sewn up then speed society, and sakash all obliging. not so good at aintree, just reminds me why i do flat racing. Here are selections from lingfield. also put up couple of place selections for the grand national based on historical trends. there is also racing from wolverhampton later and will post if able later.

After a great day on wednesday with 4 from 5 another one follows with a great 5 winners from 8 yesterday.
started with big kenny and this was followed with newtown cross, hustle bustle, travel and star up in the sky.
nothing from aintree but my bread and butter is flat racing so very pleased with these recent stats.

Thats more like it, almost got the full house but il settle with 4 from 5. lovely start with gaelic silver predictably winning the opener, this was followed by sequinned, red runaway and ishiamba obliging. lets see how we get on with a stacked day of racing. As ive mentioned before i do select national hunt on the big meets so im including 4 races from the aintree festival aswell as 4 from lingfield. still wading through the big one saturday and will post a little nearer the time.

Winners are historically difficult this time of year so any win is golddust. had the one yesterday with sweet talking guy and some nice place money back with fleetwoodsands at 20/1. todays cards are again filled with horses coming back from winter breaks. i rate a little differently at this time so lets see how we get on with these.

Quietish day yesterday with only vincentti providing some place money when finishing runner up at 20/1 luckily i had him alot earlier at 28/1 so certainly offset the other losses. adiynara was very well fancied beforehand but finished tailed off with the bookmakers rubbing there hands no doubt. seems there was a problem with the horse and will be interesting to see when he reappears. anyway on with selections from kempton.
